Recently a section of the media reported that the release of Simbu’s much awaited Osthi is in trouble due to an ongoing issues between the Tamilnadu Film Exhibitors Association (TFEA) and Sun Pictures (who has bagged the satellite rights of Osthi). However the producers of the film have now issued a press release rubbishing all the reports. It also confirmed that the film will have a smooth release as scheduled on December 8, 2011.

The film, which is the remake of blockbuster Bollywood flick Dabangg, is produced by Balaji Real Media. It also has Richa, Santhanam, VTV Ganesh, Sonu Sood, Jithan Ramesh and Revathy in prominent roles. The technical team includes Dharani (director),Thaman (music), Gopinath (camera) and V.T. Vijayan (editing).
