Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple security beefed up
Security has been beefed up at Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple following the discovery of a treasure trove that ran into hundred of crores in its secret and underground chambers.
Reports reveal that 58 CCTV cameras would be installed in the temple on vital locations in and around the temple to ensure safety and 24x7 surveillance.
The security system installed at a cost of Rs 1.5 crore was inaugurated by Oomen Chandy, Chief Minister, Kerala on Wednesday, Nov 30.
Speaking on the occasion, Chandy said that the state Kerala government provided fool-proof security to the temple adding that the security measures to be set up already started at a cost of Rs 9 crore.
Keltron, which installed the entire security system would also give training to police personnel to operate the system, he said.
The temple has been in news ever since the invaluable wealth was recovered after an inventory was ordered by the apex court in May.
